What’s New in Kids’ Yoga this September?

Get ready for an exciting and healthy month ahead as we embrace Spring! Our Sprouts Super Springtime Strength theme will help our kids learn how to strengthen and navigate their emotions using their bodies.

This month, we'll be practicing two new and exhilarating arm balance poses: Crow (Bakasana) and Firefly (Tittibhasana). These poses are fantastic for improving wrist, arm, shoulder, hip, and torso strength. They also provide a great stretch and help improve balance. Plus, they're known to reduce stress!

Our breath of the month is called Dragon Breath. Using our imaginations, we can breathe like mighty dragons! This breath technique is perfect for calming our nervous system when we feel angry or overwhelmed.

To add even more fun and wellness, we'll explore the benefits of breathing in Dr. Chris Willard's book Breathing Makes It Better. We'll also partner up and pretend to row boats, moving together at different speeds. This will help us stretch and discover how movement affects our emotions. And as a soothing touch, we'll listen to Emily Warramurra's beautiful voice and percussion in her song Yaka Yelyukwa (Rain Song) to calm our minds and bodies. Trust me, it'll leave you feeling peaceful and content.

Don't forget to check out our ultimate kids' yoga playlist for this month! It's perfect for bringing joy and energy to your classroom or home whenever you need a boost.

Let's make this month absolutely fabulous! Access my Sprouts Yoga TV - kids love it, and it's a fantastic way to spread the excitement and benefits of kids' yoga.

Let's make this Springtime month bloom, together!
