What’s New in Kids’ Yoga this Feb?

Hello, hello! I’m writing to share with you what’s happening this Feb!

We have a new exciting theme that the kids are LOVING. It’s called the Brilliance of Resilience. A perfect choice to discover how we can all feel calm in mind and body when things don’t go to plan!

As you may know, every month, we focus on children receiving time to learn one new pose and breath well so they can grow in confidence as they make it their own.

Our February pose is Humble Warrior. This will be added to the pose we learned last month, so the kids can do their very own yoga sequence! This pose has many benefits for kids, like stretching little bodies all over and building healthy, strong and well-nourished shoulders.

Our focus breath for February is Lion’s Breath! This will sound like little (and not so little!) roars as the children use their throats and upper chest to let out a great big roaring breath. This breath is perfect for lowering stress and reducing toxins in the body.

This month, we have a perfect book and songs to help us be more resilient in the face of the unknown! We will read You Are Loved by Melbourne mindfulness expert Liv Downing and practice gentle ohm humming to have a calm mind and body. The song It’s A Beautiful Day by The Kiffness will also play as we feel confident and able in our minds, breath and bodies.

Look at this month's EYLF outcomes and read the great things you can do with kids' yoga today. Until next month or in the classroom!
