What’s New in Kids’ Yoga this April?

Welcome to another wonderful month of kids' yoga! April may be chilly, but we've got a warm and inviting yoga adventure for you and your little ones to move, play, and make friends.

It can take a little longer to get moving and do the things we love when it gets a little cooler. So this month, we have a great theme called Affirmations for Motivation!

Kids will enjoy a yoga adventure to discover how we can find the energy in us to move and help us get going at the start of our day!

Each month, we shine a spotlight on a special yoga pose and breathing technique that will help children thrive with bubbling confidence.

Our April pose is Tree Pose. This pose kids love and is an ideal way for them to learn how we can all do what we want with focus and by reaching out to those who can help around us.

A pose with a partner means kids will get many benefits - they'll not only strengthen their legs but also practice using their focus to maintain balance, and it’s a great opportunity for bonding time with a friend!

Our breath for April is Waterfall breaths!

This breath is a perfect breath to feel centred and ready. We do by taking a big breath in, followed by a big one out that feels like cascading water wooshing into the space around us, calming our body and mind!

We will listen to the pitter-patter of raindrops, water moving and the ultimate soundtrack of affirmations for kids to feel self-trust and energised, ready to go out into the day and do what we love!

A month brimming with activities, we will also discover how we can use the tips of our fingertips to do a pitter-patter massage on the tops of our heads to feel peaceful and in balance, ready to play.

Look at this month's EYLF outcomes and read the great things you can do with kids' yoga today.

Keep warm and snuggly!
