What's New This June?

Hello families and ah-mazing educators!

It's June, it's cold and it's time for all of us to forget the cold outside and imagine the sun high in the sky and we have warm sand between our toes!

Join me in this imagining as I share with you what yoga happenings have been happening in childcare centres all over Melbourne this month!

Our yogi adventure theme IS:

Mindful Magic Manners!

How we will breathe...

With Bubble breath! Take a big breathe in through your nose, and blow an enormous bubble, by blowing air through your lips using a big slow breathe out. This a great exercise for calming the parasympathetic nervous system!

How we will move our bodies!

This month's yoga pose is the Surfer Pose or Warrior 2! This pose makes us feel great as we move and stretch our body!

The benefits of Warrior 2 include -

  • Children feel present and stress-free as they move

  • Little ankles and legs build strength

  • Little tummies are stimulated

  • Stretches our whole body including our lungs

  • Makes our chest, shoulders and back feel great!
